Las Vegas, brace yourselves — because a new bakery is sliding into Chinatown on December 13, and it already has the food community (and my entire group chat) in a carb-fueled chokehold. It’s called Milk Bread LV, and even though the doors aren’t open yet, it’s giving big “drop everything and get in line” energy.
Brought to life by Elevate Hospitality Group — the brilliant brains behind Moignet and GYU+ — Milk Bread is shaping up to be one of the most exciting food openings of the season. And yes, I’m saying that based solely on the menu, the concept, and the photos I’ve stared at for an inappropriate amount of time.
Where Japan Meets the Philippines (and Wrecks Your Diet)
Leading the bakery is Pastry Chef Yuka Takamizawa, whose credentials alone tell you she’s about to cause chaos — the delicious kind. She’s introducing something entirely new to the U.S.: Shokupandesal.
If that word makes your carb-loving heart flutter, same.
Think:
Japanese shoku loaf — the softest, fluffiest bread you’ve ever seen — linked arm-in-arm with Filipino pandesal, aka the golden buns of comfort. I haven’t tasted it yet, but based on how people describe these breads individually, combining them sounds borderline dangerous.
The Vibe We’re Expecting
Milk Bread is described as warm, minimalist, and cozy — a 30-seat café with a “stay awhile” vibe. And even without stepping foot inside yet, I’m already imagining the exact spot I’ll claim as my regular table.

Milk Bread LV hasn’t opened yet, and I’m already emotionally attached. The Japanese–Filipino concept feels fresh, soulful, and perfect for Vegas’ endlessly diverse food scene. And if the real thing tastes half as good as it looks? We’re all doomed — delightfully doomed.
