At CES 2026 in Las Vegas (January 6–9), LG Electronics will debut LG CLOiD, a new home robot designed to handle everyday indoor tasks as part of the company’s vision for what it calls a “Zero Labor Home.” The idea is simple (and ambitious): use robotics and AI to reduce the time people spend on household chores so they can focus on… literally anything else.

CLOiD is positioned as a full-fledged home assistant, not just a novelty gadget. LG says the robot is built to move naturally around modern living spaces and assist with a wide range of tasks, combining mobility, dexterity, and conversational interaction in one device.

A Robot With Arms — And Actual Hands

One of the most eye-catching things about CLOiD is its physical design. The robot features two articulated arms, each with seven degrees of freedom, allowing for smooth, human-like movement. At the end of each arm are five individually actuated fingers, giving CLOiD the fine motor control needed for delicate or precise tasks — the kind most robots struggle with.

In other words, this isn’t just a rolling smart speaker. LG is aiming for something that can physically interact with the home in a meaningful way.

Powered by “Affectionate Intelligence”

At the center of CLOiD is a chipset housed in its head, acting as the robot’s brain. That’s paired with a display, speakers, camera, and a suite of sensors that allow the robot to communicate, navigate, and respond to its environment.

LG says CLOiD runs on its Affectionate Intelligence technology, designed to enable more natural voice interaction and adaptive behavior. Over time, the robot is meant to learn from repeated interactions, refining how it responds and tailoring support to individual households.

The goal, according to LG, is a robot that feels less like a machine you operate and more like a helper that understands context — at least within the boundaries of your living room.

Part of LG’s Bigger Robotics Push

CLOiD isn’t a one-off experiment. LG has been steadily expanding its robotics ambitions, positioning the category as a key future growth area. The company recently established its HS Robotics Lab within its Home Appliance Solution Company, focusing on developing differentiated robotics technologies and improving competitiveness.

LG is also pursuing joint research projects and partnerships with robotics companies both in Korea and internationally, signaling that home robotics is becoming a long-term pillar of its strategy.

See It at CES 2026 in Las Vegas

Attendees at CES 2026 will be able to see LG CLOiD in action at LG’s booth (#15004) at the Las Vegas Convention Center, where the company plans to demonstrate real-life “Zero Labor Home” scenarios.

Whether CLOiD represents the future of home life or just another step along the way, it’s clear that LG is serious about bringing robotics out of the lab and into everyday spaces — and CES in Las Vegas is where that next chapter begins.
