Durango Casino & Resort Welcomes Villa's Tacos This Summer

Villa's Tacos Expands to Southwest Vegas

Get excited, southwest Las Vegas – we're getting another fantastic taco spot this summer! Villa's Tacos, the LA-based taqueria that's earned serious street cred (including a Michelin Bib Gourmand designation), will open its first location outside of California at Durango Casino & Resort. As someone who's watched our corner of the valley grow into a foodie destination, this feels like a major win for our local dining scene.

The restaurant will take over the space formerly occupied by Fiorella inside Eat Your Heart Out, Durango‘s food hall. What makes Villa’s special? Their homemade blue corn tortillas and that signature crispy Monterrey Jack cheese skirt that has people lining up daily in Highland Park. Plus, they're the only restaurant that got featured during Bad Bunny's Big Game halftime performance – that's some serious LA street cred coming our way.

What to Expect on the Menu

Here‘s where Villa’s really shines – they keep it authentic but offer enough variety to keep everyone happy. You'll find their signature tacos, queso tacos, and mulitas with your choice of chicken thighs, skirt steak, chorizo, grilled soyrizo, frijoles con nopal, or papas a la plancha. Everything comes topped with that refreshing trio of radishes and lime wedges that's become their calling card.

The fried baja fish taco will make the journey from LA, but here‘s something exciting for Vegas – they’re adding a new wood-fired tacos al pastor prepared on a wood-burning grill specifically for this location. David Horn, Durango‘s Vice President and General Manager, said the restaurant’s “distinctive flavors, quality ingredients and strong connection to their community” made them a perfect fit for the property.

From Grandma's Front Yard to Vegas Valley

What I love about Villa‘s story is how genuine it feels. Chef Victor Villa started this whole operation from his grandmother’s front yard, moved to the streets of Highland Park, and now he‘s bringing those same authentic flavors to our neighborhood. “Villa’s Tacos has been rooted in family and tradition, with a deep respect for the ingredients and flavors that define our food,” Villa explained about the expansion.

This opening is part of Durango's Phase III expansion, which means we can expect even more dining and entertainment options heading our way. For those of us living in Summerlin and the surrounding southwest communities, having quality options like this closer to home means fewer trips across town for good food.

A Welcome Addition to Our Food Scene

The timing couldn‘t be better for southwest Vegas. We’ve been watching our area transform from suburban sprawl into a legitimate dining destination, and Villa's Tacos feels like another piece of that puzzle. Check out the Durango Casino & Resort website for updates on the opening timeline – they‘re saying summer 2026, so we won’t have to wait too long to get our hands on those blue corn tortillas and perfectly seasoned meats.
